Liverpool have a four-point gap at the top of the table but that could very easily fade away by the end of this week.

Liverpool take on Leicester City in midweek and a few of Jurgen Klopp’s key players might miss the game due to injuries.

But then Man City will face Arsenal next weekend and the Citizens too could drop points.

And amongst this game of to and fro, many are putting their bets on Man City to pick up the Premier League trophy given their experience in such crunch situations.

Alan Shearer though begs to differ claiming that Liverpool have a key advantage over Man City.

“Liverpool have the advantage of being able to make a mistake once while City will be thinking they have to win every game,” the former Newcastle man said.

“Liverpool have to win the Premier League this year, they are out of the domestic cups so have that advantage.

“Pep Guardiola has a fantastic squad and I love the attitude of trying to go to win every competition.

“They’ve had blips against Chelsea, Leicester and Palace but now they have found their form again.

“Jurgen Klopp’s men have responded, but it’s not about playing eye-catching stuff now, it’s just about winning games.

“Liverpool have to win the Premier League this year, they are out of the domestic cups so have that advantage, but will also have one eye on the Champions League.”

Even Man City manager Pep Guardiola said the same thing this week.

The Spanish manager urged his team to treat every game like a final since they just could not afford to drop points or else Liverpool will run away with the title.

Liverpool’s next big worry will be late next month when they take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League immediately after which they travel to Old Trafford.

Man City too will have to sweat it out given they will take on Arsenal this weekend and just seven days later they will host Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea.
