Manchester City travel to Old Trafford this midweek to take on arch-rivals Man United in the Premier League.

Man City beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 on Saturday and with that Guardiola’s men regained the top spot on the league table only for Liverpool to regain that spot after beating Cardiff City.

All the Liverpool fans will be praying that United are able to beat Man City on Wednesday so that the Reds can retain their top spot on the league table.

That though will be easier said than done especially since Solskjaer’s men have seen a dip in form during recent games and their confidence is at an all-time low especially after the loss to Everton this past Sunday.

Man City news vs Man United:

The back line for Manchester City will see very little change from the Spurs game as Zinchenko could be the only one who moves to the bench to make way for Benjamin Mendy at left-back after the Frenchman missed the previous encounter.

Laporte and John Stones looked solid in defence vs Spurs after their shaky Champions League game and the duo will once again start in central defence at Old Trafford in midweek.

Kyle Walker will retain his place at right-back.

Youngster Phil Foden scored the only goal vs Spurs this past weekend but the teenager will most certainly drop back to the bench making way for Bernardo Silva who is expected to play in midfield on Wednesday.

Kevin De Bruyne picked up a muscle injury vs the Lilywhites and the Belgian international is expected to miss the Manchester Derby which means David Silva will get to start in midfield alongside Fernandinho who will replace Ilkay Gundogan as the defensive midfielder.

Leroy Sane has rarely started in big matches for Pep Guardiola but the German is expected to start on the left flank vs Man United which means Raheem Sterling might have to adjust on the right flank.

Sergio Aguero has been the main striker for Man City and the Argentine will once again start up front on Wednesday but Gabriel Jesus might come on if Guardiola needs to force the issue in the second half.
