Man City, like always, have made the perfect start to the 2023/24 Premier League campaign and after three matches, Guardiola’s side are sitting at the top of the table with maximum points.

Next up, they will welcome Fulham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday and if something doesn’t go horribly wrong then it should be another regulation win for Manchester City.

Fulham have not won against Man City in their previous 17 meetings but they will go into this match on the back of a win against Tottenham in midweek. Marco Silva’s side knocked out Spurs from the EFL Cup in midweek so they will have their tales up and will be hoping to pick up something against the reigning champions.

Last season, Man City played catch up to Arsenal for most of the campaign, regaining the top spot at the very end of the season but this time around, Pep’s players fully focused on maintaining a healthy lead all throughout the season.

Manchester City’s team news and injuries:

The Man City manager has only a handful of injuries going into the Fulham game so selecting a strong first XI should not be an issue for him.

De Bruyne and John Stones are both missing due to injuries and neither of them will be available for Saturday’s home game. Stones suffered a muscle injury in pre-season and his manager has confirmed that the defender will only return after the international break.

KDB, however, will be out for longer and as per the latest reports, the playmaker is hoping to make a comeback sometime in December.

Apart from these two players, Manuel Akanji also missed the Sheffield United game due to an illness so it remains to be seen if he is fit for this weekend or not. There is a big possibility that the defender will return to the squad for the Fulham game but if he is not 100% fit then Gvadiol and Nathan Ake will both get starts.

Alvarez played in the No 10 role against Sheffield United but the Man City manager also has the option of using Phil Foden in that role. Foden is more than capable of playing as the primary playmaker so it will be interesting to see if Guardiola keeps his faith in Alvarez or does he go with Foden.
