Man City picked up their 11th Premier League win of the season by beating Everton in midweek and next up, they take on Sheffield United.

Manchester City are just about hanging onto their fourth spot on the table and if they cannot beat Sheffield this weekend then Guardiola’s team could end up losing their UCL spot to Tottenham.

However, things are not all doom and gloom for Man City because Sheffield United are the 20th team on the table with just nine points against their name and on the other hand, the defending champions have a game in hand thanks to their Club World Cup endeavours.

Manchester City’s team news and injuries:

De Bruyne hasn’t played since the first game of the campaign due to a hamstring injury while Haaland and Jeremy Doku have picked up injuries recently. And the Man City manager has confirmed that neither of them is going to return this weekend.

John Stones picked up an ankle injury during the Everton game and the defender is also going to be absent.

“Nothing has changed from the last games,” Guardiola said on Friday.

“The same are injured plus John Stones.”

Ruben Dias missed the midweek’s game due to an illness and he remains a doubt for the Sheffield United match as well. If Dias is not available then Akanji and Nathan Ake will pair up in central defence.

Rodri started at Goodison Park despite an injury scare in the Middle East and he is going to start in central midfield alongside Mateo Kovacic. Nunes partnered Rodri in the Everton game but we think Kovacic is going to come in for this one.

Haaland’s absence means Alvarez is going to keep his position up front and Doku’s absence will give Jack Grealish another league start.

Man City predicted line up vs Sheffield United:

Predicted Starting XI(4-2-3-1): Ederson; Gvardiol, Ake/Ruben Dias, Akanji, Walker; Kovacic, Rodri; Jack Grealish, Foden, Silva; Alvarez.
