Barcelona want Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne Man City
Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne Man City

Man City suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of local rivals Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday but Guardiola will have very little time to reflect over this loss since they take on Arsenal in midweek at home.

The damage at the hands of United means the Etihad outfit have now lost 7 league games this season which is one more than Arsenal’s loss of 6 games during the 2019-20 season.

Manchester City have won their last six games against Arsenal in all competitions but this time the Gunners are hopeful that they can pick up something against the Citizens since Pep Guardiola will have to be very ingenious if he wishes to outclass his former coach, Mikel Arteta.

Man City team news vs Arsenal:

Ederson had one of his most indisposed games since joining Manchester City on Sunday vs Man United but the keeper will have to clear his head asap since the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette will not let him rest either.

John Stones was left out of the matchday squad against United but the defender is expected to return back to the first XI in midweek possibly in place of Otamendi.

Zinchenko should drop back to the bench in order to make way for Benjamin Mendy who came on as a substitute for Man City during the weekend. And Kyle Walker too should return back to the starting line-up.

David Silva was on the bench vs United but the Spaniard should replace Bernardo Silva in midfield meaning Gundogan will move to the right side of midfield.

Kevin De Bruyne was badly missed by Pep Guardiola during the derby but as per the latest reports, the playmaker still remains a doubt for the Arsenal clash as he is yet to fully recover from his shoulder injury.

Phil Foden got a rare start for Man City on Sunday but during the second half, Guardiola had to bring in Riyad Mahrez who made an instant impact causing major issues for Brandon Williams. And against Arsenal, the former Leicester man will surely get to start and he could end up having a merry time since the Gunners will use Bukayo Saka as their first-choice left full-back.

Raheem Sterling was very poor against Man United as Aaron Wan-Bissaka once again managed to keep the winger in check. But the England international will have a chance to redeem himself in midweek when Arsenal come to town.

Sergio Aguero came off injured against United meaning Gabriel Jesus will lead the line for Man City on Wednesday.
