Leroy Sane Man City news
Leroy Sane Germany Man City World Cup

Man City vs Arsenal will be the curtain-raiser for the Premier League resumption in a couple of days time and Pep Guardiola is expected to get back two of his top players for this match.

City welcome Arsenal to the Etihad on 17 June and Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane are set to feature in the matchday squad.

Laporte has missed most of the season due to a knee injury and he only made a return to action in January of this year.

But soon after he injured himself once again, this time while playing against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

His absence has been a real blow for Guardiola’s plans this season as the manager has had to use Fernandinho in centre-back but this unexpected lockdown has really helped Aymeric Laporte recover from his hamstring injury and he has been constantly training with the Man City squad over the past couple of weeks.

The 26-year-old should feature in central defence during the Man City vs Arsenal game next week.

Leroy Sane has been out for the whole of the 2019-20 season after rupturing his cruciate ligament in the Community Shield game against Liverpool last year.

But like Laporte, this lockdown has helped Sane recover without losing much more games and he will most certainly be named in the match-day squad vs Arsenal.

While Laporte will feature in the starting XI but we are not sure if Pep Guardiola will be too eager to hand a start to Sane especially amidst all the talk of him heading out of the Premier League this summer.
