Jose Mourinho Tottenham take on Chelsea

Manchester United drew their latest home game against Arsenal 2-2 on Wednesday and yet again, the Red Devils dropped points at home.

Jose Mourinho set up an attacking team – clearly with a view to pick up all three points. But it was Arsenal who were on the verge of winning the game had it not been for a fine save from David De Gea late in the second half.

After the match, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho praised him his team for showing character after falling behind twice during the game but was also critical of his players for not picking up a win.

A couple of days ago, Jose Mourinho showed his frustration on the touchline as he smashed a couple of water bottles and he did something similar on Wednesday.

When a decision went against his team, Jose Mourinho rose from his chair and kicked the fence on the side of the dugout.

And these weren’t the only instances when the Man United manager lost his cool this season as the Portuguese has repeatedly been under the spotlight – for all the wrong reasons.

While many feel this behaviour is normal as the manager has entered his destructive third season at the club but former Man United midfielder Paul Scholes has a totally different reason behind Jose Mourinho’s outburst.

According to Scholes, Jose Mourinho’s weird behaviour is due to the departure of Rui Faria.

“I think the assistant (leaving) is the big one,” Scholes said.

“Rui Faria was with him for a long time, he had been at every club with him.

“All of a sudden he is gone and apparently, I don’t know, but apparently he was very influential in what he did day to day.

“He’s lost that and he (Jose Mourinho) does look a bit lonely at times.

“I think that’s a big part of it.”

Manchester United remain eight points adrift of the top-four spot and now the most realistic chance of them playing in the Champions League next season is to win the trophy this campaign.
