Manchester United beat Newcastle United 3-2 at home this weekend in the Premier League and the match had some of the most attacking football that the Red Devils have played since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Jose Mourinho’s side found themselves 2-0 down within the first ten minutes of the match and the next 80 minutes could very well have been the last time that fans would have seen the Portuguese at the home dugout.
But then, Mourinho made a number of key changes and United shifted gears to play a brand of attacking football which is not particularly associated with a Jose Mourinho side.
Goals from Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and a late winner from Alexis Sanchez ensured that Jose Mourinho was not left red-faced after the final whistle.
And while ensuring such a massive comeback, a number of records also tumbled:
1. There’s always a first time:
United went 2-0 down within the first 10 minutes of the match and this was the first time that the Red Devils had conceded two goals inside 10 minutes at Old Trafford.

2. The Special Juan:
Juan Mata scored the first goal for Manchester United from a free-kick in the second half which means the Spaniard. has scored more direct free-kick goals than any other player in the competition – since he made his League debut back in 2011.

3. Trouble in paradise: Not quite
Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba recently had a fall out at the United training ground which was caught on camera but that personal battle has surely not caused anything to deter their professional relationship.

4. Happiness doesn’t last long:
Rafa Benitez’s men made a dream start to the game as their men found themselves 2-0 up within the first 10 minutes of the match but sadly the goals came too early and all that lead did was push the team back into a shell.
But those two goals also meant, the Magpies had taken the lead in a Premier League game for the first time during the 2018-19 season.

5. 400 not out:
The 3-2 win over Newcastle United on Saturday was Jose Mourinho’s 400th win in his managerial career out of the 597 games that he has managed. Coincidently he has lost just 73 games.
