Manchester United hit a new low this weekend when they went down 4-0 to Everton in the Premier League away from home.

After a rosy start to his managerial career at the club, it looks like Solskjaer’s honeymoon period is finally over and now the Norwegian is starting to realise how poor a squad he has.

While the likes of Martial and Pogba are world beaters but right now their focus and confidence are at an all-time low.

Solskjaer has made it clear that a number of the current players will not be a part of the squad for the next season which is certainly good news given that so many of them have been sitting on pretty wages while producing absolutely nothing.

After the Everton defeat, a number of players have come out to apologize to the Man United fans claiming they will up their game and at the forefront was Nemanja Matic.

The midfielder had a really poor outing vs the Toffees but he was quick to take most of the blame.

Matic told Danish broadcasters TV2(as reported): “Many things didn’t work for us today. First of all, our approach.

“I think that the most experienced guys, in this case, me, didn’t play well today. So I don’t think we need to blame the young guys today. I was the biggest problem.

“In these kinds of games, you have to win the battle in the middle, then the team can play better football. We didn’t do that.”

This act of boldness should be an example for all the other players who were below par vs Everton.

But to be honest, Nemanja Matic might very well be one of those players who could be shown the door during the summer transfer window despite his honesty and his promise to improve.
