Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has managed to change the mood at the club within just one week of being appointed as the caretaker boss.

The Norwegian has had a whirlwind couple of days ever since United chose to sack Jose Mourinho last week.

Within 24 hours of the sacking, Solksjaer was named as the caretaker boss until the end of the season and it seems that the gloom around Old Trafford has suddenly been lifted.

And now speaking about the new Man United boss, journalist JJ Devaney has revealed an old encounter with the Baby Faced Assasin when he was managing Molde.

This incident stems back to 2013 when Molde were playing in the Champions League qualifiers and Devaney was covering the game.

“I went up and there were a few journalists gathered around,” he told the Caught Offside podcast(as reported by MEN).

“You know me in social situations – shameless and straight to the point – so I stuck out my hand and I said, ‘Ole, I’m delighted to meet you’.

“And he fixed me with those blue eyes and they are kind of piercing and he does look younger than the age he actually is.

“So I shook hands with him and said, ‘Listen I thought you were a fantastic player, brilliant player, and even though I’m a Liverpool fan I just wanted to shake your hand.’

“You would think that’s really nice. He didn’t move a muscle in that face. His eyes fixed on me and he said, straight up, with no jocularity: ‘If I’d known you were a Liverpool fan, I wouldn’t have shaken your hand.'”

Reports have claimed that the Man United boss will only be allowed to make loan signings during the January window since the club want to save the money for their next long-term manager when he takes charge of the club at the end of the season.
