Kyle Lafferty
Kyle Lafferty to Rangers

Rangers FC brought back Kyle Lafferty for a second stint with the club during the summer transfer window.

Lafferty was playing for Hearts during the 2017-18 season and last summer he joined the Gers on a two-year deal and scored two goals in his league debut against Motherwell.

Kyle Lafferty was immediately conceived as the striking partner to Alfredo Morelos and Steven Gerrard even changed his formation in order to accommodate both the players.

But after an impressive couple of weeks, the 31-year-old seems to have rock bottom.

Kyle Lafferty has managed to score only five goals from 26 appearances and which is a very poor return for a second striker.

And now with Umar Sadiq heading back to Italy, rumours have it that the Gers are planning to bring in a new striker next month.

The Teddy Bears are eyeing players like Fran Sol and Dominic Solanke which could be very bad news for Kyle Lafferty.

Sol has been setting the Eredivisie on fire and if Rangers get Dominic Solanke on loan then he will have to be given game time as per the terms of the deal.

And in both cases, Kyle Lafferty will be the most affected players.

If a big name striker comes in next month then Kyle Lafferty could very well fall down the pecking order and become the third choice striker.

Alfredo Morelos has scored a flurry of goals this season and if Lafferty wants any chance of featuring during the second half of the season then he needs to score goals as soon as possible.
