Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League table last season but the management have chosen to show faith on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Ole was appointed as the new boss last December and he made a dream start to his time at Old Trafford. But the honeymoon period was quickly over and the performances from the team started to dip.

This meant that the Red Devils finished out of the top four and will be playing in the Europa League this campaign.

But the Norwegian has made a bold statement this summer by bringing in a number of top signings who will be put to test when Man United take on Chelsea at home this weekend in the Premier League.

Man United news vs Chelsea:

United have made a flurry of signings this summer and most of them are expected to start at Old Trafford this Sunday vs the Blues.

After a long time, the United fans will get to see a strong defensive line with new signings Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire set to start alongside Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof.

This means Smalling and Phil Jones will be warming the benches while Eric Bailly has been ruled out with a knee injury until December.

Paul Pogba picked up a lower back spasm last week which forced him to miss the AC Milan friendly but the manager has revealed that the midfielder will be fit to face Chelsea on Sunday.

Last weekend, Ole said:  “At the end of the session today, Paul got a back spasm, the same issue he had when he missed the session in Norway. But I think he’ll be available early next week.”

Scott McTominay featured heavily during Man United’s pre-season friendlies and we would like to believe that the academy graduate will feature in the first XI vs the Blues.

Daniel James looked promising during the summer friendlies but we don’t think, Solskjaer will risk handing him a debut during such a crunch game.

This means that Antony Martial and Marcus Rashford will both start upfront and James might come on in the second half if the manager needs to inject some pace and fresh legs.

As per reports, Alexis Sanchez will not start this game since the Chilean is lacking match fitness which means Juan Mata will probably come into the starting line-up.
