Jose Mourinho Tottenham take on Chelsea

Manchester United lost the Manchester Derby 3-1 this weekend and with that, the Red Devils are not 12 points behind league leaders Man City.

United sit eighth on the League table and with each defeat they will now move closer to the second half of the table.

While some fans have called Jose Mourinho to be sacked but the United board has made it clear that they have full confidence in the Portuguese especially after the team’s improved performances during the past couple of weeks.

And now dissecting Man United’s performance, football pundit Gary Neville has come up with three fabulous reasons why Jose Mourinho’s men are nowhere close to the likes of Liverpool and Man City.

Gary Neville said: “We shouldn’t compare them at this time as there is an absolute gulf in performance levels. 12 points is about right after 12 games.

“The biggest problem is how they close the gap on the top four and that race, not the title race. They are on a different level all over the pitch.

“They weren’t going to win today unless they had a set piece. United’s aim has to be to win the title. But to win it you have to think about the areas on the pitch.

“They can’t keep a clean sheet at the back. The midfield can’t pass the ball forward. The front three don’t have the precision of Liverpool or Man City.

“So in each, part United are behind the other teams so to think about comparing them is unfair because they are nowhere near them.”

Man United are currently seven points away from the last Champions League spot and now their biggest target will be to qualify for the top tier of European football next year.
