The Premier League shareholders are due to meet this Thursday and reports are suggesting that there will be discussions on a very important topic.

We are talking about the VAR.

The VAR has been a much-debated topic amongst the fans this season and it was further fueled this weekend after potential errors during the games between Southampton and Watford, and Fulham and Liverpool.

And now Sky Sports believes that the Premier League clubs will hold discussions on the introduction of the VAR this week.

The report states that the clubs will vote on the issue and if everything goes in favour then the technology could be introduced next season.

The Video Assistant Referee was used in the 2018 World Cup this summer and the technology received rave reviews during the World Cup in Russia this summer.

Since then many top leagues around the world have adopted the tech but the Premier League is yet to make a decision.

The VAR trials have been conducted during certain Carabao Cup and FA Cup games this season and the report suggest that the FA will put forward their results during Thursday’s meeting with the Premier League clubs.

*Fingers crossed*
