Man United picked up a fine 4-1 win against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Boxing Day and next up they travel to Turf Moor in order to take on Burnley FC.

The games are coming thick and fast but with wins against the likes of Spurs and Man City, the Red Devils have surely made a statement of intent and if they can pick up a win against Burnley then they will surely end the year on a high.

Man United are currently eighth on the league table but if they can manage to pick up three points on Saturday then there’s every chance that they could end the weekend in the top-four.

Man United news vs Burnley FC:

Man United have looked solid in defence this season but the manager could opt to rest Luke Shaw for this match since the left-back is quite injury prone and he has been playing back to back games this month.

If Shaw is rested then Ashley Young could fill up his place at left-back but some people feel that youngster Brandon Williams could also be given a chance at Turf Moor.

Scott McTominay left Old Trafford on Boxing Day with a cast around his leg and reports have suggested that the midfielder has picked up knee ligament damage which is surely going to be a big blow for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

With McTominay ruled out for the Burnley clash, Paul Pogba will most certainly start in central midfield alongside Fred.

Some people claim that Pogba could be deployed in the attacking midfielder’s role with Andreas Pereira playing alongside Fred. But we think the manager will not make such a big gamble away from home and will possibly deploy Jesse Lingard just behind the striker.

Daniel James was rested for the Boxing Day match at Old Trafford but the Welshman will most certainly come back into the side meaning youngster Mason Greenwood is likely to drop back to the bench.

Anthony Martial scored a brace in midweek and the Frenchman will start upfront while Marcus Rashford plays on the right flank.

The manager is expected to make a few reshuffles since he would not want some of his key players to play the full 90 minutes. This means we can expect to see the likes of Mata and Matic come onto the pitch if Man United can wrap up the match early enough.

Man United’s predicted XI vs Burnley:

Starting XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Ashley Young/Williams; Paul Pogba, Fred, Lingard; Daniel James, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial.
