Man United overcame the Crystal Palace challenge despite going down to 10 men towards the end of the match and those crucial three mean they are now third on the Premier League table.

Next up, Man United will play another midweek fixture when they welcome local rivals Leeds United – a team who are currently staring at a relegation battle.

While Manchester United have just suffered only a single defeat in their previous six league outings, the Elland Road outfit haven’t won in their last six league games. The home side are the overwhelming favourites to pick up an easy win on Wednesday night but they will have to do it without Casemiro and this one absence will give Leeds a lot of hope.

Leeds United went down 1-0 against Forest on Sunday so even if they can pick up a draw in midweek, it will be a great result for them. However, a point won’t do for Man United if they want to remain in the top four.

Manchester United’s team news and injuries vs Leeds United:

Defence has been one of the strongest aspects under Erik ten Hag but it will be midfield chaos on Wednesday night.

Christian Eriksen is ruled out until April or May while Scott McTominay is recovering from a knock. Donny van de Beek has also been ruled out for the rest of the season and to make matters worse, Casemiro is going to be suspended after picking up a red card vs Palace so the defensive midfield position is going to be a major cause of concern for the Man United manager.

If McTominay is not fit in time to face Leeds United then ETH will most probably use January signing Marcel Sabitzer in the holding role.

Some pundits have claimed that the boss could use Lisandro Martinez or even Luke Shaw in that position but since Leeds are not in great form, we think the manager is not going to do anything ultra crazy.

Sabitzer did pretty well in the nine minutes he played vs the Eagles so he’s the one who’s going to play in front of the back line.

Apart from this major selection, the Man United could also make a few rotations in the front line. Jadon Sancho could get a start ahead of Antony because United have a really tight schedule this month.

Anthony Martial has suffered a setback which is why he missed the Palace game and it remains to be seen if he is fit to play on Wednesday or not. If the Frenchman is not available then Weghorst should hold onto his place in the side.

Man United predicted line up vs Leeds United:

Predicted Starting XI(4-3-3): De Gea; Shaw, Wan-Bissaka/Dalot, Martinez, Varane; Sabitzer, Fred, Fernandes; Rashford, Sancho/Antony, Weghorst/Martial.
