Arsenal have been linked with a move for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha despite many reports claiming that Man United still hold an interest in him.
Zaha joined Man United in 2013 with much promise but he eventually turned out to be a massive failure forcing the Red Devils to eventually sell him back to Palace in 2015.
But last season, the winger had been in tremendous form for the Eagles scoring 10 goals and assisting another 10. And many reports claim that Solskjaer wants to re-sign Zaha during the current summer transfer window.
Sky Sports though are reporting that Arsenal have launched a £40 million bid for the player with his brother claiming that playing for Arsenal is Zaha’s dream.
Zaha’ brother Judicael telling Sky Sports News: “Wilfried will always hold Crystal Palace and their fans in the highest regard and all the support they have given means the world to him.
“It’s my brother’s dream though, to play for Arsenal.”
Theoretically, Palace will not be ready to sell off Zaha for such a low transfer price but some believed that Zaha’s love for Arsenal could urge the player to try and force a move to the Emirates.
But Football London are claiming that this will not happen thanks to Man United and the clause that they put in the contract when they sold Wilfried Zaha to Palace back in 2015.
The article claims: “The sell-on clause was inserted by United when Palace bought Zaha back in 2015, on a permanent basis.
“It has been a key factor in the thought process of Palace when it comes to interest in Zaha in recent summers, knowing that they would have to give 20% of any sale price over to United.
“Palace are demanding up to £80million for the 26-year-old, and if they were to get that for him, the Red Devils would stand to receive in excess of £15million as part of any deal.
“Zaha is also worth more to Palace than what the majority of clubs would be willing to pay for him, and while Zaha may want Champions League football, he may have to wait longer for it.”
