Man United dropped points once again in the Premier League this time losing 2-0 to bottom-placed Watford FC away from home.

But Solskjaer will have absolutely no time sit and ponder over this loss since they are back in action on Boxing Day when they welcome Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

Man United are undefeated in 18 of their last 19 home matches against Newcastle in all competitions but with the way the Red Devils are playing against the smaller sides, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the Magpies manage to pick up points on Thursday.

Ole has more or less a set starting line-up for his top-flight matches but we think the manager might opt to rotate his squad in order to rest some of his key players.

Man United news vs NUFC:

Luke Shaw has returned back from injury and has started for Man United in the past couple of games but he could very well be rested in midweek as Brandon Williams looks to come back into the starting line-up.

Paul Pogba has returned back from injury and got a few much-needed minutes under his belt during the weekend. And the Frenchman is surely going to start in midfield against the Magpies.

This though means that Fred’s position in the side could be in danger and many people believe the Brazilian would drop to the bench in order to make way for Pogba.

But we feel that Fred will remain in the line-up alongside Scott McTominay and it would actually be Jesse Lingard who will make way for the World Cup winner.

With Lingard moving to the bench, Paul Pogba will get to play in a more advanced role meaning he will not only be helpful in attacking situations but will also have less responsibility in defence.

Marcus Rashford was poor against Watford but right now he’s the standout player for Man United meaning he will surely start against Newcastle United on Boxing Day.

Daniel James looked really tired against the Hornets and maybe its time for the Welshman to get some rest. If this happens then Mason Greenwood would replace the winger on the right flank.
