Man United suffered a 5-0 loss to Liverpool at Old Trafford has last weekend and they could be staring at another defeat as they face Spurs on Saturday.

Manchester United have hit a new low in the previous few weeks and that loss to Liverpool has caused a massive uproar amongst the fans as well as within the management. Ole is just about holding onto his job and if Man United lose to Spurs then there’s every chance that he will be shown the door.

The Red Devils have surprisingly lost three out of their previous four Premier League matches and are currently seventh on the league table. Spurs who had started the season so poorly now find themselves one point better off than their Saturday’s rivals.

Solskjaer obviously needs a win to save his job but looking at the larger picture, a loss against Spurs could mean disaster for Man United since they have to face Manchester City next week. If they slump to a defeat vs Spurs then they are more than likely to slip to the bottom half of the table by the end of the weekend.

Man United team news vs Spurs:

Luke Shaw was really poor against Liverpool but Solskjaer will keep faith in him since the left-back has been in great form otherwise.

The big positive for the manager is that Raphael Varane is on the verge of making a return and he’s already started training with the squad. The early team news has also claimed that the defender could start against Spurs on Saturday.

The team news read: “In more positive news, Ole indicated before the Liverpool match that Pogba’s fellow countrymen Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial could be pushing for returns after being injured whilst on international duty.”

Paul Pogba picked up a red card vs Liverpool so he will be unavailable and there’s also a chance that the manager could drop both McTominay and Fred to the bench.

The midfield duo really looked out of sorts on Sunday and with his back against the wall, Ole has to make some bold selection calls. If the Norwegian is ready to take the gamble then Matic and Donny van de Beek will pair up in the middle of the pitch.

Bruno Fernandes has lost his sheen somewhat in the past few weeks but the Portuguese is still a guaranteed starter since he is the brains of the team.

Rashford will operate on the left-hand side of attack but Ole could move Mason Greenwood to the bench. Jadon Sancho will be the ideal replacement for the youngster but some experts believe the Man United boss can also name Edinson Cavani on the right-hand side.

With Cristiano Ronaldo in the side, Man United lose their ability to press high, something which proved to be their undoing against Liverpool. But Solskjaer will never dare to drop CR7 to the bench.
