The Man United vs PSG clash at Old Trafford this Tuesday will be the first European game for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ever since he took charge of the club.
In many ways, this and the return game could be the audition for the Norwegian boss for the job of the next permanent manager.
Most pundits believe that if Man United can get past PSG then Solskjaer will be leading the race to become the manager next season.
And with each passing day, it feels as if Man United might actually pull it off.
It was first confirmed a couple of weeks ago that Neymar would miss the Man United vs PSG encounter due to a foot injury and the Brazilian will also not be available for the return leg.
The came the injury to midfielder Marco Verratti.
Last week, Thomas Tuchel revealed that Verratti had picked up a fresh injury(after just having come back from one) and the midfielder could be an absentee for the Man United vs PSG game on Tuesday.
Now though the manager has come out to claim that Marco Verratti is certainly in contention for the Man United game after he training with the first team.
Tuchel said(as reported by Sky Sports): “Marco Verratti and Layvin Kurzawa both trained without problems.
“Everyone is available, except Neymar. We will wait for training on Friday to see if they will play on Saturday.
“If possible, Marco will start. He will hopefully play 45 minutes, but we have to decide.
“We await the final session and I hope that they will both be able to play versus Bordeaux. However, it will not be for 90 minutes.”
This will certainly be a setback for Solskjaer but the Man United caretaker boss has yet another reason to be happy after Edinson Cavani picked up what looked to be a hamstring injury during PSG’s 1-0 win over Bordeaux.
The Uruguayan was taken off at half-time and initial reports claim that the forward might miss the Man United vs PSG encounter this midweek.
