Man United had moved to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United during the summer transfer window but eventually, they failed to bring him in.

Declan Rice has seen a meteoric rise to the Hammers first team during the past season which is why United were desperate to sign him before the start of the current season.

And while many reports predicted that Man United would be able to sign the midfielder, Solskjaer chose to give up on the transfer midway through the summer predicting that Manuel Pellegrini would not let the youngster leave.

Now though the fact that Man United have been performing so poorly this season, the Norwegian boss has once again chosen to make a move for Declan Rice once again during the January transfer window.

Ole has identified the midfielder as one of his top transfer targets but it is still unclear if West Ham United would let Rice leave during the middle of the season.

While reports claim that United are more likely to make a move at the end of the current season but if things do not brighten up for the club during the next two months then surely Ed Woodward would not shy away from contacting West Ham United.

Right now, TransferMarkt values Declan Rice at €50 million but we are more than certain that the London club will not accept anything less than €80 million for the services of the 20-year-old.

Rice signed a new contract with the club last year which will keep him at the London stadium till 2024 which means the Hammers are in no hurry to sell him off.

Hence in such a scenario, it will be really difficult for Man United to lure Declan Rice away especially during the January transfer window.
