Manchester United centre-back Chris Smalling has not been able to find a spot in England’s 23-man squad for the World Cup and the player seems to be making the best use of his spare time.
Chris Smalling has decided to jet off to Vietnam with his wife Sam to enjoy a much needed holiday.
And during his holiday too, the 28-year-old is busy sharpening up his skills.
No, we are not talking about his footballing skills.
Chris Smalling uploaded a video on his Instagram and Twitter accounts where he is seen trying to learn Vietnamese from his teacher.
The video shows the teacher reading six different pronunciations of the word “Ma”, and Smalling is seen reciting them back.
The video was captioned: “It’s safe to say I won’t be coming back home fluent in Vietnamese.”
But if you watch the video carefully you can hear Chris Smalling’s wife Sam laughing in the background.

This though is not the first video that Smalling has uploaded while on holiday.
A couple of days ago, the Manchester United centre-back posted a video where he was seen playing ‘badminton football’ on the street of Vietnam.

It’s pretty clear that the English International is in high spirits despite not being selected for the World Cup in Russia.
Chris Smalling is currently on holiday and there is a high probability that he might not return to Manchester United as reports have emerged that the Old Trafford outfit has made up plans to offload the player.
