Manchester United parted ways with Jose Mourinho on Tuesday as the manager has failed to deliver the goods this season.

Mourinho’s final nail in the coffin was the 3-1 loss to Liverpool last weekend and the management took no time in showing him the door.

The club have announced that former player Ole Solskjaer will take charge of the club as the caretaker manager until the end of the season while Mike Phelan will become the assistant manager and Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna will be the coaches under Solskjaer.

But now Metro have come up with an exclusive article which reveals what Ed Woodward actually told the Manchester United players after the club took the decision to sack Jose Mourinho.

The Manchester United players were informed of the decision before the training session on Tuesday but there was also something else that Woodward had told the players.

As per the report, Ed Woodward had told the players that it was not only the manager who was to indict for the poor results but in fact, the players also had to take a part of the blame.

He informed the players that they had to take more responsibility for the rest of the season in order to ensure that the club reach the goal of playing in the Champions League next year.

Manchester United are said to be looking at Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane are the favourites to replace Jose Mourinho but the management would like to take their time before deciding on their next manager.

Some reports suggest that the Spurs boss, Mauricio Pochettino will take off the club but only until the end of the season which is why Man United have decided to appoint Ole Solskjaer as their interim manager.
