West Ham United lost their second game of the season 2-1 to AFC Bournemouth despite taking a 1-0 lead.

Marko Arnautovic put the Hammers in front from the penalty spot but Eddie Howe’s team hit back with two quick goals to pick up all three points.

And just when the Hammers fans are bashing their team about the poor start to the new season, they are in line to receive some positive news.

According to the latest reports, midfielder Manuel Lazini is expected to return before the end of the current season.

The 25-year-old suffered a damaged cruciate ligament during Argentina’s preparations for the Russi World Cup and at first, it seemed Manuel Lanzini’s career could well and truly be over.

But since then the attacking midfielder has had a successful surgery and is currently recovering under a top specialist in Barcelona.

And sources there claim that Manuel Lanzini is responding well to the treatment and is slightly ahead of schedule.

While it is still early days and there are a number of things that might go wrong but the fans will surely be happy with this bit of positive news.

If everything falls into place then Manuel Lanzini could be back in action before the end of the season.

West Ham United will have no respite after the loss to the Cherries as they travel across London to take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Like the Hammers, Arsenal too are without a win in their first two games of the new season and Unai Emery will be looking at the Hammers clash as the perfect opportunity to pick up his first competitive win as the new Gunners boss.
