Mason Greenwood - Man United

Mason Greenwood has come up through the ranks at Manchester United and this season, the 18-year-old has moved up the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The striker has featured in 21 games across all competitions and has managed to score nine goals. And given that most of these appearances have come off the bench, the youngster has really become the talk of the town for all the Manchester United supporters.

The youngster came on against Everton last weekend and managed to score the all-important equaliser for Man United and speaking after the game, Gary Neville has claimed that the academy lad is a better finisher than Marcus Rashford.

“I like Greenwood a lot. The composure that he shows at such a young age, his great physical presence,” Neville told Sky Sports as quoted by The Mirror.

“The way in which he finishes is that of a top centre-forward.

“Sometimes when you see a young player in front of goal, they panic a bit and snatch at things – [Daniel] James and [Jesse] Lingard do that quite a lot.

“But I’d say Greenwood is a better finisher than Rashford – and that’s saying something. He really does look the real deal. I think Solskjaer knows that and he’s going to bleed him in.

“Mason Greenwood, that is really really good. It’s got some van Persie about it.

“It’s controlled, composed. Ice cold when the ball arrives to him at the edge of the box. We’ve seen others snatch at it, not him! He can finish, right through the legs, classic Solskjaer.”

Mason Greenwood has been used very tactfully by Solskjaer this season as the Norwegian has made it a point not to over-play the youngster and most of his starts have come during the Europa League games.

The manager has also gone on to claim that the 18-year-old is one of the best finishers he’s seen at the club so if Greenwood can carry himself well then surely he will be up for a bright future at the club.
