Mauricio Pochettino was recently sacked by Tottenham Hotspur and right now the South American is in the hunt for a new club.
Spurs hit a new low this season under Poch so naturally, Levy had no other option but to show him the door just months after he guided Spurs to a Champions League final. But given the potential and repertoire, this man has, a number of clubs have immediately been linked with him.
And one of the interested clubs is Spurs’ North London rivals, Arsenal.
There have been reports that the Arsenal hierarchy are eager to bring in Mauricio Pochettino as a replacement to Unai Emery since the Gunners are desperate to get back into the Champions League.
Under normal circumstances, no one would really think of Arsenal making an approach for an ex-Spurs manager but right now the Emirates outfit are winless in their last five league matches meaning they will do anything to see their fortunes turn.
Some rumours last week had suggested that Mauricio Pochettino might not be able to take up the Arsenal job even if he wanted to cause his Spurs contract had a specific clause barring him from managing the Gunners in the future.
While this report cannot be confirmed but what can be with certainty is that the 47-year-old is keeping his options open meaning he is not at all against the idea of being the next Arsenal boss.
The former Spurs manager told TyC Sports via The Express: “It’s important to have a moment of calm to lower the decibels and find the energy to take on a new project, and we’ll see where that is.
“I’m going to spend a few days here [in Rosario] with my family and friends, and then I’ll return to London next week.”

While it is still unclear whether Arsenal have made contact with Mauricio Pochettino but one thing’s for certain that the South American wants to get back to management as early as possible since the whole second half of the season is still left.
Poch does have the option of moving out of England and leading to the La Liga or to the Bundesliga but multiple reports claim that he wants to remain in the Premier League – thereby making the Arsenal managerial job a ripe prospect.
