Mauricio Pochettino Chelsea manager

Current Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is the favourite to become the next Man United manager.

This above statement might very well be the worst kept secret of the footballing world ever since the Red Devils sacked Jose Mourinho in December.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been named the caretaker boss until the end of the season meaning United have bought themselves time to appoint a deserving candidate as their next long-term solution.

And many believe that Ed Woodward has taken this time span so that he can entice Mauricio Pochettino to leave Spurs and move to Old Trafford.

Multiple reports believe that the United management is will to wait until the end of the season in order to get in touch with Mauricio Pochettino even though the Argentine has maintained that he is happy at White Hart Lane.

And now the Spurs boss has revealed his long term plans with the Lilywhites which has clearly indicated that Mauricio Pochettino has no intentions to leave the club anytime soon.

Pochettino said:

“I think the people want trophies and [think] that it means you are very successful,

“Of course, in some projects, in some clubs, if you don’t win a trophy, you fail.

“But in our project at Tottenham we are completely different – if you say if you don’t win a trophy, it’s a failure … we have bigger things than to focus on than only to win a trophy.

“But that doesn’t mean that we are not focused on trying to win against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup or in the FA Cup. But you need a lot of coincidences to win sometimes.

“Putting you in a different level is when you win the Premier League and you are capable to challenge every season for the title and if you play Champions League and you really believe and you are a real contender one day to win the Champions League.

“That is my objective in Tottenham.”

While some pundits believe that when Man United do come calling it would be really hard for Mauricio Pochettino to fend away such a huge interest.

But what we feel is for the Argentinian to stay at the club beyond the summer, Spurs need to win atleast one major trophy this season.
