Celtic are set to lose Kieran Tierney to Arsenal as the Gunners have ramped up their pursuit for the left-back and it looks like Max Lowe will replace him at Parkhead.

The Bhoys rejected a £15 million offer for Tierney but now reports are claiming that the Gunners have made a second bid in the region of £20 million.

While this still falls short of Celtic’s asking price of £25 million but it is only a matter of time that Lennon loses the left-back.

And once this transfer is complete, Celtic would have lost a number of defenders which include the likes of Emilio Izaguirre, Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic.

This naturally means Neil Lennon is out searching for defenders and if recent reports are to be believed then the Bhoys have joined the race to sign Derby County left-back Max Lowe.

Max Lowe started his career at Derby’s youth academy but the youngster does have experience of playing in Scotland as he spent the 2018-19 season out on loan to Aberdeen.

Max Lowe played in 28 Premiership games for Aberdeen last season but his loan deal expired in May which means he has headed back to England.

But Derby narrowly missed promotion to the Premier League which means Max Lowe is surplus to their requirements next season and they would be happy to let him leave.

This interest from Celtic though will big a big setback for Rangers who have also been keeping tabs on the players for some time now.

It is being claimed that Steven Gerrard has been impressed with Max Lowe and the manager is likely to make a move for him during the coming few weeks.

But now the Bhoys pose a number of major problems.

The first big one will most certainly be money since the sale of Kieran Tierney will bring in a significant amount of money for Celtic and they will not shy away from spending a big chunk of that in order to sign Max Lowe from Derby.

Max Lowe is currently valued at €350,000 as per TransferMarkt but given that he the left-back still has around two years left on his current deal, the Championship side will certainly not part ways with him for cheap.
