Arsenal manager Unai Emery wanted to get rid of Mesut Ozil during the January transfer window but the club failed to find a buyer.

Inter Milan were reportedly interested in signing him but the Serie A outfit eventually backed out due to the high wage demands of the German.

Right now, Mesut Ozil is the highest paid footballer at Arsenal and this is proving to be a huge burden in trying to offload him.

No club wants to pay the playmaker than much money and with Unai Emery wanting him out, it looks like Ozil’s future is in a bit of a limbo.

Now though thing might be untangling thanks to Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.

A couple of days ago it was reported that Fenerbahce were interested in signing the German and now the Mirror are reporting that the deal is making rapid progress.

The report reads, “Ozil is a boyhood Fenerbahce fan, and the Turkish club are confident they can bring the midfielder in on loan for the season after drawing up a transfer plan.

“Ozil earns around £13.5million per season at Arsenal, but Fenerbahce are looking to pay £8million towards his wages for the coming campaign.

“The Gunners will pay the remaining £5.5million owed to Ozil for the season, report Fanatik.

“Ozil appears keen to remain at Arsenal, amid claims he loves living in London.”

While Mesut Ozil is keen to fight for his place at the Emirates but clearly Unai Emery wants him out even if that means paying money of the club’s own pockets.

Once the playmaker is offloaded then it would free up a lot of funds which the Arsenal boss can then use to bring in new players this summer.
