Ibrox Rangers

Rangers FC appointed Steven Gerrard as their new boss last summer and during the past year, the former England international has done a great job at Ibrox.

Gerrard brought in a number of new players during the course of the 2018-19 season and he also changed the way that the Gers played(opting for a more positive approach).

But in the end, everything went down the drain as Celtic once again proved to be too strong with Neil Lennon’s side ending the season with a domestic treble.

This summer though most pundits have claimed that Rangers will get closer to Celtic and will actually challenge their Old Firm rivals for the Scottish Premiership.

Steven Gerrard built the core structure of his squad last season and this summer he is busy fine-tuning the problematic areas which mean the Gers will be a more polished side during the upcoming season.

But all said and done, the bookies still have their bets on Celtic winning their 51st  Premiership title.

As per a report in the Evening Times: “Celtic are odds-on to cruise to a ninth consecutive Premiership league title, heading into the 2019/20 campaign clear favourites ahead of Rangers yet again – according to bookie SportNation.bet’s SPFL Super Computer.

“Despite Rangers’ resurgence under Steven Gerrard, Neil Lennon’s Bhoys are tipped to be as dominant as they have been over the last decade with odds as short as 1/3 on them winning their ninth title in a row – and just 10/11 to be the first ever side to make it ten out of ten, their shortest price yet.

“The Gers, who would love to be the team to prevent their fierce enemy of making history, are tipped at 23/10 to win their first title since 2011 in what can barely be called a two horse race.

“Nevertheless, Rangers are still much shorter than third-placed Aberdeen (24/1) and Hibernian (90/1), who look set to fill the Europa League spots with rivals Hearts (100/1) just missing out.

“The biggest fallers from last season is forecasted to be Kilmarnock (200/1), tipped for a 6th place finish after losing manager Steve Clarke to the Scottish national side after leading them to an impressive 3rd last year and European football.”

SPFL Premiership predicted table with 2019/20 (odds on title win)(as reported)

1. Celtic (1/3)
2. Rangers (23/10)
3. Aberdeen (24/1)
