Rangers vs Leipzig

It was supposed to be a quiet day at the office for Rangers FC and most of its fans but a report from the Daily Mail has caused a bit of an uproar – especially amongst the supporters.

Earlier during the day, it was being reported that a number of English clubs were interested in signing Rangers midfielder Josh Windass during the summer transfer window.

It has been suggested that clubs like West Ham United, Aston Villa, Burnley and West Brom have shown an inclination towards buying the 24-year-old.

This news certainly came as a shock to many people especially since Windass has featured in both the competitive games that Rangers has played under new manager Steven Gerrard this season.

The back to back appearances under the new boss meant that the midfielder was scheduled to be part of the new look Gers side.

But as soon as the report of Josh Windass’ exit broke some started suggesting that the midfielder might not feature during Rangers’ Europa League clash against Osijek later this week.

But now the midfielder has released a picture on social media which is almost definitive proof that Englishman has no intentions of moving back home just yet.

Josh Windass posted a picture on Twitter where he was seen training with his fellow mates before the Europa League clash.

This picture was posted right after the news of his exit broke which has led many fans in believing that the post was an indirect reply to all the transfer rumours.

Windass was instrumental for the Light Blues in the first half of the 2017-18 season but the midfielder failed to make any sort of big impact towards the end of the campaign. And many feel that the game against Osijek will be an acid test for him in terms of securing his long-term future under Steven Gerrard.
