Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final courtesy of goals from Mo Salah and Divock Origi.

But almost every expert has now come to an agreement that this final was one of the most boring ones that we have witnessed in quite a long time.

All set and done though, Liverpool were the worthy winners of the Champions League this season and now that everything has been wrapped up, UEFA have named the squad of the season for the 2018-19 season.

The squad is obviously dominated by Liverpool players with as many as six first-team regulars featuring which the others mostly come from the other semi-finalist teams.

The six Liverpool players are as follows – Alisson Becker, Virgil Van Dijk, Trent Alexander Arnold, Andy Robertson, Wijnaldum and Sadio Mane.

Tottenham Hotspur too have a fair number of players in the UEFA squad of the season – Jan Vertonghen, Moussa Sissoko and semi-final hero Lucas Moura.

Ajax might not have made it to the final after losing to Spurs in the semi-final but they have as many as five players who have featured in the squad of the season.

But surprisingly one name which does not feature on the list is that of Mo Salah.

Mo Salah not only scored the opening goal for Liverpool during the final vs Spurs but he also managed to as many as five goals in just 12 games in the Champions League this season.

Last year, Mo Salah ended up playing just around 30 odd minutes in the final vs Real Madrid but the Egyptian but all those disappointments behind him as he lifted the UCL trophy this time around.

So naturally, the Liverpool fans were furious when Mo Salah did not feature in the UEFA squad of the season more so when Cristiano Ronaldo featured on the list having scored just one more goal than Mo Salah in the UCL this campaign.
