Liverpool forward Mo Salah has won the Puskas Award for his goal against Everton in the Merseyside Derby.

And this has not gone down too well the footballing fraternity.

Salah won the Puskas on Monday night during FIFA’s The Best awards ceremony and the fact that the Egyptian won the trophy ahead of Gareth Bale’s superb bicycle goal in the Champions League final has raised a lot of eyebrows.

But this award was open to public voting which explains exactly why Mo Salah won the Puskas for such an average goal vs Everton.

What is even shocking is that the goal which was scored back in December of 2017 did not even manage to win the Premier League goal of the season.

The win has sparked an enormous debate amongst the footballing community and many fans have started trolling the Liverpool forward for his win.

And the first and the most famous person to get into the act was Salah’s teammate, James Milner:

And once you compare Mo Salah’s Puskas goal with the other goals which have won this prestigious award, you will see exactly why the fans are cringing about it.
