Manchester United have recently been hit with a number of serious injury issues meaning Jose Mourinho has had to tinker around with his first XI once again.

We are already into the second half of the season and the United boss is yet to decide on his perfect first team which is partly because of the constant injury struggles which he has had to deal with.

But Jose Mourinho has named one player in his current lot which is absolutely vital to his plans and is ‘untouchable’.

The player, Mourinho was talking about is Marcus Rashford.

“I’m always pleased because he[Marcus Rashford] always plays on his limits,” the United manager told manutd.com.

“He gives absolutely everything and that’s what I demand from players.

“After that, more quality, less quality, better performance, not as good, but I think that’s the basic thing of a professional and, at that level, Marcus is untouchable because he’s fantastic in terms of his contribution for the team.”

Marcus Rashford was one of the few positives that had come out of the Louis Van Gaal managerial regime and ever since making that impactful performance vs Arsenal a couple of years back, the England international has managed to keep hold of his place in the starting XI.

The player is often criticised for his lack of finishing skills but Marcus Rashford does certainly make up for it with his tenacity and work ethics across the pitch.

During the past couple of weeks, Jose Mourinho has chosen to drop Romelu Lukaku to the bench and play Marcus Rashford as the frontman – a move that has garnered fairly positive result for Manchester United.
