Olivier Giroud has been trying to secure a move out of Chelsea during the current transfer window and Tottenham Hotspur might just be his next destination – as per reports.
Jose Mourinho is looking to bring in a new striker to act as a replacement for the injured Harry Kane and as per the latest updates, Spurs still remain interested in AC Milan forward Krzysztof Piatek.
Now though as per fresh updates, the Lilywhites seem to have taken an interest in signing Giroud from Chelsea before deadline day.
The France international was on the verge of joining Inter Milan but as per the latest updates, the Serie A outfit are no longer interested in signing Giroud.
After the arrival of Christian Eriksen, Inter seem to have gathered a very bulky squad which is why their manager does not want to increase it further by bringing the Chelsea outcast on board.
And it seems like Jose Mourinho is using this failed transfer to his advantage by making a move for Olivier Giroud.
Spurs are willing to offer the forward an 18-month contract which should be more than enough to convince him especially since Mourinho does not have a big recognised striker in his squad right now which means Olivier Giroud will get ample playing time in case he chooses to move across London.
The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of the current season so if Chelsea can get a transfer price out of his sale this month then surely Frank Lampard and co should not have any problems in letting him join Tottenham Hotspur before the end of the weekend.
