Liverpool beat Southampton in the Premier League on Friday and it was one of those nerve-racking games for Jurgen Klopp.

The Saints took the lead pretty early in the game and finally, it looked like the Reds would be dropping points.

But then it was Naby Keita who stepped up and scored his first ever for the Merseyside club to level things up.

After that, it was Mo Salah and Jordan Henderson who ensured that the Reds returned back with all three points.

But one weird thing which a number of the fans noticed is that while most of the Liverpool ran to celebrate Mo Salah’s goal, apart from Sadio Mane, no one really seemed to be too happy with the fact that Naby Keita had scored an all-important equaliser.

And now Jurgen Klopp has come out to provide a clear justification.

“I don’t know exactly why (they didn’t celebrate), it’s for sure nothing to do with Naby!,” Jurgen Klopp said(as reported).

“They were all really happy for him in the dressing room, he had multiple hugs. At 1-1, because we wanted to win, it was not the goal, so all the boys obviously decided not to celebrate it like crazy because there was still a job to do”, the German clarified.

“Still, a fantastic moment for a first goal.

“Naby had two difficult situations when he lost two balls in the beginning, but then he was in the game and helped us so much

“In the second half he was there, he was there for the small passes, for closing the right spaces, passing in the right spaces, so that was then really good and helped him a lot for sure.”

Naby Keita has found it really hard to settle down at Liverpool ever since he moved to Anfield from the Bundesliga.

The former Leipzig man has found it really hard to see game time and rumours have also claimed that Jurgen Klopp might be planning to offload him during the summer transfer window.
