Liverpool sent Nathaniel Clyne out on loan to AFC Bournemouth at the start of the new year and now reports are suggesting that Jurgen Klopp might call him back.

Clyne joined Liverpool in 2015 from Southampton and during the past year, the right-back has fallen out of favour at Anfield.

This season, Clyne made only eight appearances for Liverpool and most of them came off the bench.

So it was fruitful for every party that he went out on loan until the end of the season.

But now Liverpool have been hit with an unexpected injury blow to Trent Alexander Arnold and reports suggest that the player will be out for a month.

Arnold picked up a knee injury and while surgery would not be required for the issue but the right-back has suffered ligament tweaks which will require around four weeks to fully heal.

And as soon as this report broke out everyone thought that Klopp would recall Nathaniel Clyne from Bournemouth.

That though will not be possible since Clyne’s loan deal with the Cherries does not come with a recall option.

ESPN journalist Glenn Price broke this news on Twitter: “Trent Alexander-Arnold set to be sidelined for a number of weeks with a knee injury. He doesn’t require surgery.

There is NO recall option in Nathaniel Clyne’s loan deal with Bournemouth.”

Joe Gomez was apt to play in that role but he too is out injured and will only return during the end of this month.

And now with the Clyne option also out of the window will Jurgen Klopp head back into the transfer market?
