Rangers are planning to make a move for Derby County midfielder Craig Bryson – as per the latest reports.

Craig Bryson has been a regular feature under Steven Gerrard this season and the 32-year-old has so far played 21 games in all competitions for Derby – scoring two and assisting three goals.

But the Gers aren’t the only club who are interested in signing the box-to-box midfielder as rumours suggest that Hibernian are also interested in making a move for the 32-year-old.

Rangers so far have made four signings during the January transfer window and Craig Bryson could be the fifth – but with a little bit help from their arch-rivals Celtic FC.

Hibs boss Neil Lennon is out in the market looking for a midfielder and reports suggest that apart from Bryson, the manager is also looking at the prospect of signing Celtic man Scott Allan.

Scott Allan spent the last season out on loan to Hibernian and then returned back to Celtic during the summer.

Since then though, the midfielder has been frozen out of the squad and is yet to make a single appearance under Brendan Rodgers this season.

Getting Allan from Celtic would be a much easier job for the Hibs as compared to Craig Bryson since the former is practically of no use to the Hoops.

And if Hibernian do manage to get the Celtic man then it would clear up the path for Rangers and their pursuit of Craig Bryson.

Bryson’s current deal with Derby ends during the summer meaning if Gerrard pushes hard then he can have the 32-year-old for cheap this month.

But some reports suggest that the midfielder is keen on staying at the club beyond the summer and is ready to accept a new deal.
