Celtic FC made a clean sweep of titles during the 2018-19 season despite some initial pressure from Rangers FC and Neil Lennon is expected to keep that form running next season.
Brendan Rodgers surprisingly chose to leave Celtic in February of this year in order to take charge of Premier League side Leicester City.
And the Bhoys brought in Neil Lennon to charge of the club until the end of the 2018-19 season but after helping the club achieve an unprecedented third domestic treble, the 48-year-old was appointed the permanent manager for a second time.
But instead of breathing a sigh of relief a lot of Celtic fans are now a bit sceptical whether Lennon would be able to match the aura of Steven Gerrard during the upcoming season.
The manager though is clearly unphased by the challenge which lies ahead and he has made a clear statement by indicating that a number of the current players could be sold off this summer transfer window.
He said: “I think there’s some trimming to do, yes.
“We have to be mindful with the amount of games we play, so the squad has to be of a decent size.

“We don’t want to have players on the periphery of the squad on a decent wage being left out.
“The squad is too big for my liking and I think it’s important that we [trim] it.”
Already players like Mikael Lustig, Scott Allan and Dedryck Boyata have been released by the club this summer and as per Neil Lennon, a few others are also expected to follow.
But what is the major cause of concern for the Celtic fans is the fact that up until now all the departures have been free transfer meaning the club have not received a single penny from player transfers.
