FA Cup final Man City vs Man United England
Wembley Stadium Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur were scheduled to take on Arsenal in the Premier League on March the 2nd.

And this match was scheduled to take place at the new Spurs stadium.

But now the Lilywhites have confirmed that the new Spurs stadium is not yet ready meaning the Spurs vs Arsenal clash will now be played at Wembley.

Spurs left White Hart Lane in 2017 and moved to Wembley temporarily until their new stadium was built and the Lilywhites were scheduled to move into their new home during the early parts of this season.

But that opening of the new Spurs stadium has been delayed ever since and now it looks like the London club will have to play the rest of their homes of the season at Wembley.

A statement read: “We can today report that remedial works on the safety systems in the new stadium are near completion and we shall then move forward to the final stages of testing the fire detection and alarm system and its integration with the other safety systems.

“The success of this testing is critical to our ability to obtain a safety certificate and open the stadium.

“We can confirm, therefore, that we shall play our Premier League match against Arsenal on Saturday 2 March at 12.30pm at Wembley Stadium.”

After an initial delay, reports suggested that Spurs would move into their new home sometime in November but those rumours were quickly squandered when the management leased Wembley until the end of 2018 – hinting that the new Spurs stadium will not be ready in time.

Initially, the new Spurs stadium was scheduled to be called White Hart Lane but now that idea has been abandoned since the club want to use their home as a naming rights sponsorship link.
