Premier League side Liverpool want to sign a central midfielder this summer and Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella seems to be their latest interest.
A report in Sports Mole claims: “Liverpool are reportedly preparing a big-money offer for Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella.
“According to La Repubblica, the Reds are now preparing a bid for the Italian, who is said to be valued by the Serie A champions in the region of £60m.
“Inter are under pressure to sell some of their key players this summer due to their financial problems, although it is understood that the club are preparing a new deal for Barella.”
Nicolo Barella a far-fetched dream for Liverpool?
Initially, Liverpool were targeting Spaniard Saul Niguez but it looks like the 26-year-old is on his way to FC Barcelona.
Barca are planning a swap deal between Saul and Antoine Griezmann and as per the latest updates, the two clubs are already in advanced talks.
With Saul Niguez slipping away Liverpool seem to have promptly shifted their focus to Nicolo Barella but signing the Italian will be no walk in the park either.
Barella had an outstanding European Championship with Italy and he is one of the best players in the Inter Milan squad right now.

Ideally, Inter will never part ways with the 24-year-old this summer but the Serie A side are not in the best of financial shape which is why they are likely to sell their star players if the money on the table is good enough.
Now, this report is claiming that Liverpool are willing to go all the way but we doubt if Jurgen Klopp’s side can afford to pay £60 million(Barella’s market value is £58.50m) for a single player.
Wijnaldum left as a free agent so any amount for a replacement will have to come out of their own pockets and as of now, there are no major indications that the Anfield outfit will spend big this summer.
