Arsenal have had a long-standing interest in Celtic FC forward Odsonne Edouard and as per Bleacher Report, the Gunners are set to make a move for the Frenchman.

The report claims: “It is possible Lacazette seeks a new challenge too, and Arsenal are exploring potential avenues in case they have to find a new striker.

“Celtic front man Odsonne Edouard, 22, is a player they are very keen on, while Lyon’s Moussa Dembele and Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic may yet emerge as forwards they will pursue.

“In terms of free agents, Arsenal have made contact with Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser and Chelsea’s Willian to get an idea of the contracts they would be looking for.

“As the 2019/20 season draws to a close, boss Arteta, technical director Edu and head of football Raul Sanllehi can begin to focus on their work to shape this Arsenal squad for next season.”

Will Lennon agree to sell off Odsonne Edouard?

Celtic are trying to make Odsonne Edouard agree to a new deal at the club before the next season kicks off but even if they achieve this target, we doubt if the Bhoys will be able to hold onto Odsonne Edouard or not.

If Arsenal can offer a transfer fee in the region of 35-40 million pounds, the Celtic management will have no other option but to accept the money and let the 22-year-old move south of the border.

Also, any top player dreams of playing in the Premier League and if Edouard gets the opportunity of joining a club like Arsenal, we doubt if he will let go of it.

But having said all this, the potential move for the Celtic forward will solely depend on the exit of Alexandre Lacazette. If Arteta can manage to hold onto the forward, there’s no way he will try and sign Odsonne Edouard.
