Scottish side Rangers FC are on the verge of making their fourth signing of the summer transfer window, in the form of Bongani Zungu, according to Football Insider.

The report claims: “Rangers have offered a lucrative contract to Amiens midfielder Bongani Zungu as they close in on signing him, Football Insider understands.

“The Light Blues have held extensive talks with the South Africa international as they look to make him their fourth senior summer signing.

“Ibrox sources have told Football Insider the club are in negotiations with French side Amiens as well as the player himself.”

Who is the new Rangers FC signing?

Bongani Zungu is a central midfielder who currently plays for French side Amiens SC, a club which he joined in 2017.

As per TransferMarkt, the 27-year-old is currently valued at £1.44 million but as per the various reports, the player is available for around £4 million.

Zungu’s agent has made it clear that a number of big clubs are interested in signing him during the summer transfer window and Rangers FC is reportedly standing in the front of the queue.

He said: “There’s a big possibility that he leaves France this summer but we can’t comment about any clubs for now in order to respect the clubs we are in talks with.

“There’s interest in Ligue 1 and in other parts of Europe but I just can’t reveal where for now.”

Bongani Zungu made his debut for the South Africa national side back in 2013 and so far the midfielder has played in 24 matches for his country.
