Premier League sides Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been put on high alert regarding the transfer of 22-year-old centre-forward Odsonne Edouard – as per the Telegraph.
The forward currently plays for Scottish side Celtic FC having joined the club from PSG in 2018 and this season, he has scored 21 goals and provided 12 assists in just 27 Premiership matches. And over the past couple of months, the player has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League.
Now as per a report in the Telegraph, Celtic FC are looking at Shon Weissman as a replacement to Odsonne Edouard meaning Arsenal and Spurs now have a big chance of signing the 22-year-old.
The report claims: “Celtic will consider a move for Israel striker Shon Weissman should they lose Odsonne Edouard to a Premier League club.
“Weissman, who has been prolific for Wolfsberger AC in the Austrian Bundesliga, is one of their priorities should they need to bolster their attack when the next transfer window opens.”
Will Odsonne Edouard join Arsenal or Spurs?
Both Arsenal and Spurs have shown heavy interest in signing the centre-forward but right now it’s the Gunners who are in pole position to sign Odsonne Edouard.
Major publications in Europe claim that Aubameyang is likely to move out of the Emirates meaning Mikel Arteta should planning a move for the Celtic man pretty soon.
Jose Mourinho also wants the former PSG man on board for the next season but we doubt if he will want to join the Lilywhites with Harry Kane still around.
If Aubameyang heads out, the Gunners will badly need a new forward more so since some rumours claim the manager is also planning to let Lacazette leave in the summer.
Arsenal and Spurs right now might be the only two clubs interested in signing Odsonne Edouard but if Celtic FC formally put him up for sale, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if other big sides come calling.
