Celtic FC forward Odsonne Edouard is wanted by a series of big English clubs including Arsenal and now as per the Daily Mirror, Leeds United are also chasing the Frenchman.

The report claims: “Leeds are plotting an ambitious move for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard if they win promotion to the Premier League.

“Boss Marcelo Bielsa has made a new frontman a priority this summer and Edouard, who has scored 28 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops, is high up on his list of targets.

“Celtic do not want to lose the player as they chase ’10 in a row’.

“But that won’t stop Championship leaders Leeds testing the waters to see if they can tempt the player south of the border.”

The 22-year-old has been on fire this season for the Bhoys, scoring 21 goals and providing 12 assists in just 27 Premiership matches. And he will be a fine addition to the Leeds United squad, especially since they are on the verge of returning to the English top division.

But according to journalist Graham Smyth, Odsonne Edouard might not be moving to Ellan Road during the summer transfer window.

Smyth said, in a Q&A: “I haven’t heard his name around Elland Road but would say that tabloid tales on players with reported £30m price tags strike me as a little presumptuous.

“There’s also the little matter of Augustin to settle, as well, before money is spent on a goalscorer.”

Despite the fact that Celtic will sell for the right price, but this news will be a big boost for the Bhoys manager since Odsonne Edouard is the best player they have and Lennon would love to hold onto him for one more season.

Celtic are already in the process of offering him a new deal and if the Frenchman puts pen on paper to the new deal then the SPFL club will surely have the bargaining chip in their hands.
