Oliver Giroud arrived at Chelsea from Arsenal in January of 2018 but the forward is already making plans to move out.

The Frenchman joined Chelsea because he wanted regular game-time so that he can feature for Didier Deschamps’ side in the 2018 World Cup. And by moving to Stamford Bridge, he managed to achieve just that.

And due to his fine services to the club during the 2018-19 season, Chelsea also triggered a contract extension towards the end of May this year which means, Olivier Giroud is staying at the club until the end of 2019-2020 campaign.

But this season though, the scenario seems to have changed for him since new manager Frank Lampard clearly prefers to use Tammy Abraham upfront meaning Giroud has fallen down the pecking order.

And maybe this is why the 32-year-old is planning to head out of Chelsea – maybe at the end of the current campaign.

‘The MLS for my family, my children who speak English, it’s interesting,’ Giroud told RMC Sport(as reported by The Daily Mail).

‘In a year? In two years? I do not know when. But of course, after that, I will be open to a final challenge.’

VERDICT ON OLIVIER GIROUD EXIT:

Olivier Giroud is right now 32 years old and Chelsea have a history of letting older players leave with considerable ease which is why we believe this season will be Giroud’s last at the club.

Another big reason as to why the Frenchman is playing at the club right now is due to the transfer ban. We are certain that if Chelsea had the option of signing new players this summer then surely they would have offloaded Giroud and brought in a replacement.

But since that cannot be done, the manager had no other option but to trigger the extension clause in his contract.

Having said this though we believe Olivier Giroud will get ample amount of game time this season since he along with Tammy Abraham are the only to strikers that Lampard is favouring this season.

So with so many cup games and European games to play, we are sure the Frenchman will get to see a lot of action in front of goal.
