Manchester United have nothing to play for this season and with just a single game left it would be no surprise if Solskjaer chooses to play the academy graduates this weekend.
United are about to enter a very busy pre-season with a number of players heading out as the club plans on bringing in a couple of new faces.
And some reports claim that Anthony Martial could be one player who might leave for greener pastures during the summer.
Anthony Martial arrived with great promise a couple of seasons ago and since then the Frenchman has failed to hit the heights which have been expected from him.
This season, while the forward has shown sparks of brilliance but one big issue with him is his consistency.
And according to former Manchester United defender Danny Higginbotham, Anthony Martial could be a great asset for the club if he can start performing week-in-week-out.
Higginbotham said: “When you look at him, Martial can be whatever he wants to be,
“You have to get that consistency from him because when he’s good he’s unbelievable.
“Then at times, you get frustrated whether you’re a support or former manager because you know what he is capable of.”
Alexis Sanchez should be on his way out of the club during the summer hence we do not expect Solskjaer to offload Anthony Martial too since both of them play down the left wing.
Anthony Martial obviously has a lot of potential in him but right now he needs to sort his head out and the pre-season will be the perfect time to do that.
During the summer, Solskjaer will also be able to judge whether the Frenchman is truly fit to adjust in the new-look side which he is about to assemble.
