Ousmane Dembele to the Premier League
Ousmane Dembele

Barcelona signed Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund back in 2017 for a transfer fee of around €125 million and the young Frenchman was supposed to be the next big thing.

But after two full seasons, Ousmane Dembele has not been able to live up to that hype and most of that not, the 22-year-old has spent time in the medical room.

During the 2018-19 season, the winger played in just 29 La Liga games scoring 8 goals and most of these appearances came off the substitutes bench.

And now reports are claiming that Barcelona has had enough of the Frenchman and are looking to redeem at least some part of the money that they invested in him.

TEAMtalk have claimed that the Camp Nou management have given the green light to sell off Ousmane Dembele during the summer transfer window.

But they do have one major condition.

As per TEAMtalk, “Barcelona splashed out an initial fee of just over £90million to sign Dembele from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, to help cover for the loss of Neymar, and want that same fee back if they are to sell.”

Barcelona have already spent a lot of money on signing Frenkie de Jong from Ajax and now Antoine Griezmann is also set to join the squad.

And the club wants to recover a large part of their spendings through the sale of Ousmane Dembele.

TEAMtalk also reports that Liverpool have no intentions of spending such a big amount this summer after having brought in the likes of Alisson and Van Dijk for huge sums of money last year.

But Ousmane Dembele remains one of the top targets for Jurgen Klopp and if he is indeed available in the transfer market then the German boss might very well push the Liverpool bosses to make the signing.

Also if the Anfield outfit do make a move for Ousmane Dembele then the alarm bells could start ringing for Sadio Mane as both the players operate down the left wing.

And if would not be a shocker if Mane tries to force his way to Real Madrid in case Ousmane Dembele is Anfield bound.
