Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was on the sidelines with an injury and only came back to full fitness last month.

After playing in just a handful of matches, the midfielder went missing against and many people thought a move out during the January transfer window was imminent.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had finally come out to explain that Paul Pogba has picked up a fresh injury and would have to undergo an operation on the suggestion of the doctors.

And while speaking to the press this past weekend, the Man United manager was asked about the possible return date to which the Norwegian claimed that Pogba should be fully fit sometime towards the start of February.

The manager said via ManUtd.com: “Paul came back after a long spell out, two games, had a reaction, and couldn’t go to Burnley, as he felt his ankle was sore.

“We did a scan and it’s not the same injury, it’s a different injury. Of course, when you get that scan, we speak to him.

”You always consult your own medical people as well, like I did when I did my operation. You want the best second opinion and the advice was to have it done.

“It’s not a major one, and probably, as I said, three or four weeks.“

This will certainly be a huge blow for Man United since Scott McTominay has also been ruled out for a long time with an injury.

With both Paul Pogba and McTominay out of action, it will now be Fred and Matic who will play in central midfield for Man United – a spectacle no one really wants to see.

Also with Pogba out for almost a month some reports have suggested that the Man United manager might try and sign a creative midfielder during the January transfer window in order to act as a short-term replacement.
