Manchester City won the Premier League this season after beating Brighton away from home on Sunday.

And with that, the Citizens become the first club to defend their league title since Man United did the same almost a decade ago.

City won the league with a gap of just one point as Liverpool finished the season on the second spot despite losing just a single league game all season.

Many Liverpool fans were hoping that Man City would slip up during their final game of the season as the Reds picked up a win over Wolves on the very same day. But that was not to be.

And banking on his team’s fine performances this season, Pep Guardiola has gone on to win the Premier League manager of the Year trophy.

And after winning the ward, Pep Guardiola sent out a classy message to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

“It’s an honour to receive this award,” Pep Guardiola said.

“I want to share it with my players because they are the artists, to my staff because we fought a lot and especially for the all the managers in the Premier League, especially Jurgen Klopp. He was an incredible contender to face until the end.

“It was a pleasure to play against all of them and hopefully next season we can see each other and do big big battles again to win this incredible title, the Premier League.”

Man City will take on Watford in the FA Cup final this weekend which if they manage to win will ensure that they pick up the domestic treble this season.

Liverpool on the other hand also have the chance of ending the season on a high given that they will play in the Champions League final next month vs Spurs.
